Access-Supports for Living is Hiring an Employment Specialist Near Vernon, NY

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm with flexibility including some weekends
Location: Mount Vernon, NY
Rate of Pay: $27:47

OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

This position will utilize the evidence based model of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Employment services to assist adults with mental health conditions to obtain employment who are enrolled in TGCW’s Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team and Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment (CORE) programs.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Job development
  • Benefits counseling
  • Rapid job search
  • Job coaching
  • Follow along supports/ongoing job support

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

  • Complete monthly data reports.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Attend trainings (IPS, CORE, ACT, NYESS and agency training)
  • Collaborate with ACT team Vocational Specialist and CORE PSR staff.
  • Ticket to Work documentation.
  • Enter data and reporting in NYESS system.
  • Document contacts in electronic record system
  • Assignments may be determined at a future date

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi- task
  • Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree in human services.
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Experience a Plus
  • Driver’s license required

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Must be capable to move throughout work day and follow people served throughout community
  • Must be capable to sit or stand in front of a computer for long-periods of time
  • Able to work in open space floor plan
  • Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet
  • Must be able to move in tight spaces
  • Occasional lifting of > 5 pounds (carry backpack with laptop and notebook)
Percent of Travel: 60% in the community.
